Thank You Momma for Making Me Gold Pants

  • I had a freak out moment last night when I googled "pregnancy+salami." Turns out I'm not supposed to be eating it! I should know this, but being a (mostly) vegetarian, I never really stored it in my brain. I spent the night researching listeria and panicking. Statistically: One baby has died from listeria in MN since 2001. Irrationally: That's all it takes. I know, I'm crazy.. but I ate like a pound in a week! Don't even get me started on the nitrates.
  • Bra extenders are incredible. How have I not heard of them until yesterday? Instead of buying a new bra, I spent $1.50 and can now breathe.
  • I'm crabby at Comcast. Every night our internet (and phone) go down between the hours of 8pm-???. Thank god someone in the neighborhood has an unsecured network. Thanks Daryl! Anyway, Comcast is coming for the third time today to fix. I'm not getting my hopes up.
  • I pretty much owe Kristen my life for all of the baby stuff she's lent me. I will buy you seventeen shots of tequila, Kristen, in re-payment.
  • Also, Maya is in the hospital -- read about it here. Poor girl!
  • Finn is wearing size 8 shoes. He was measured yesterday and should be wearing 9.5. Crap.
  • I can now officially congratulate Jill on her pregnancy!

Hey Kari,
I asked our doc about lunch meat too cause sanwiches are all I ever had for lunch before getting pregnant...she said she has never seen a case of listeria, but the sodium/processing is the problem. she said I could still have it once a week. I just learned I'm not supposed to have tea either--I think the shorter list is what we are allowed to have!

No kidding! My doctor did say I could have salami "in moderation." So I guess a pound in a week isn't moderation? Oops.

I feel the need to respond to all of your bullets. Sorry.

*I bet Meatloaf's mom ate too much salami when she was pregnant too. But look, he turned out fine!:-) Baby Rowles will be a beautiful beefcake too!!

*Maya's out of the hospital! WOOHOO! *Now we can go for tequila shots...on Kari! :-) You're sooo welcome! I love that someone can use all of the stuff!

*I'm always worried we'll do that with Maya's feet too! Kids are crazily tolerant of toe pain. Sad.

*And WOOHOO to Jill too! I'm sooooo excited for her. Guess you can just pass the baby stuff on! hehe.

*Cannot comment on bra extenders or Comcast. Against my contract.

Weird about the salami. My midwife told me that eating lunchmeat while pregnant and catching listeria you have the same odds as the normal person not pregnant. Veeerry slim odds. At least if I'm remembering the loads of info and things to worry about correctly...

I love that you thank Daryl. I should really thank Denny sometime...

I brought salami to the school potluck today and have had three sandwiches. Not to mention the ones I had earlier this week. Why is it SO GOOD???

My doc said I could eat lunchmeat, but she probably means more turkey or ham than salami. She thinks I need the protein more than I need to avoid the crazily rare chance that I'd attract listeria (now I need to go knock on wood...).

I need to find out more about these bra extenders. Nice. Did you buy them in a store or online??

I got my bra extender at Motherhood Maternity. I've used it every day since.
