Running an Etsy store is hard work; harder than I thought it would be anyway. I figured I'd just open it and people would come and I'd be super busy and famous in a month. Ok, only half-famous... but still. I set a goal to try and post something new almost every day and between that, promoting and filling orders, it's a lot of work.
Of course, I totally enjoy all of it, but other things are getting neglected. Like housework. I'm pretty sure the dust bunnies have MATED and created baby dust bunnies. My dishes keep piling up and rolling my eyes at them does not get them clean. Believe me, I've tried rolling them REALLY HARD.
I want to make business cards so I can leave them places and hand them out to strangers and look professional. Then I started thinking, shouldn't I be handing out some sort of jewelry instead? But who's going to wear a beadfruit button or pendant? Besides MY MOM (hi mom). Anyone have any good ideas? What's something creative that will allow me to promote? Besides nudity.

Ooo, that's a tough one! You could maybe check into like local (as in VERY close by) beauty salons and spas and see if they would maybe be willing to have a small display of your jewelry and then some business cards. A LOT of local independent businesses (so not like a Fantastics Sam's) want to promote other LOCAL businesses. Keeps the Walmarts and Targets at bay when people "shop local" So many of your pieces are so unique and pretty that I think others would really like them.
As for the Household and so on...No worries....Things will find a rhythm and it'll get easier.
Keep at it Kari! I'm so glad the "shop" is paying off! :) We KNEW you'd do well!
Great idea, Heather!
I can't wait to see the mated bunnies! Do they have each other's names carved in their backs?
I love you.
I got a piece of jewelry in the mail today and the packaging was beautiful! It was really a nice touch. Fun colored tissue paper, pretty paper box; it made opening it kind of memorable. Idea?
I love your packaging too! I meant to tell you that... makes it more personable :-)
Hmm.. ideas on how to advertise... do you belong to any other craft type forums? Posting your etsy store link on there is always helpful. What about putting a free ad in the local newspaper?
Thank you for stopping by my blog, Not Quite Twins! Gorgeous stuff you have here :) I'm a follower!
